No, I am not in New Hampshire

Going to New Hampshire quit making sense.

My flight from Medford to Boston on United Airlines got cancelled at the last minute.

I flew to Portland, Oregon for an alternative flight on Alaska Airlines, a red-eye. That alternative flight also got cancelled at the last minute, after I had waited all day at the Portland Airport. And Alaska Airlines’ substitute flight for their cancelled one was the next day, and they said that even that one was "iffy." This portended a second whole day in airports.

Meanwhile Chris Christie, Vivek Ramaswamy, and Asa Hutchison dropped out and wouldn't be in New Hampshire.

There was still Nikki Haley. But I've seen her give the same speech four times.

Well, there is always Trump. But Trump is mostly in New York, not New Hampshire. He is attending the second trial on even more financial damages he owes the woman he sexually assaulted then defamed. His trial is part of his campaign. He is on message, demonstrating that he is fearless and unbowed by normal rules of law and decorum. He is burnishing his brand. He isn't about being good. Or lawful. He is about being defiant. He dares the judge to stop him.

Trump is making news for being told by the judge to stop disrupting the trial. In a tweet Trump called the judge "abusive, rude, and obviously not impartial but that's the way the crooked system works!" In comments to reporters outside the courtroom, Trump said "That's a nasty man. He's a nasty judge. He's a Trump-hating guy."

In a normal world, a defendant would be considered worse for having been found guilty of rape and defamation of his victim, who then acted out at his trial. But in this world, Trump is solidifying support within his MAGA base.

The blizzard in Des Moines was moving east to New Hampshire and I hate slick roads. The payoff did not seem worth the bother. I managed a flight back out of Portland and came home to Medford, light rain, and temperatures in the 50s.

Coming home was a wise choice. You don’t need to be in New Hampshire to watch Trump win the primary. He’s got a lot going for him: fraud, rape, theft, a coup attempt and the promise of retribution against those who are “persecuting” him. Republicans eat that up.

Maybe change the name of the blog to “Up Close in the Courtroom”?
Habba is hot.

In a normal world, any Defendant who insulted a Judge in his Court would be cooling his heels in a holding cell next to his incompetent rude attorney until such time as they made a sincere apology and paid a whacking big fine. And if Defrndant One wa n ts to attend the trail he should be bound and and gagged like Bobby Seale decades ago. Yhey can c wheel him on and out on a heavy duty hand truck.

Apologies for the misspellings. I wish this platform would provide an "edit" feature.

Since NH is off the table for now, here is something else also related to politics.

The transgender issue is not going away. Kara Dansky is an attorney, lesbian, author, blogger, public speaker, advocate and activist "committed to protecting the rights, privacy and safety of women and girls on the basis of sex in law and throughout society."

Her new book (Nov. 2023) is "The Reckoning: How the Democrats and the Left Betrayed Women and Girls." However, you can learn more about this issue and her work (and the work of others) simply by visiting her Facebook page, which costs nothing. She also has a website.

Are readers aware that there are many lesbians who do Not want to be pressured into dating biological men (fake women)? Also gay men who do Not wish to date biological women (fake men)? The LGB Alliance is an international organization addressing these and other lesbian and gay issues.

As "conservative" Megyn Kelly has noted on her FB page, this issue ("gender ideology") crosses party lines.

Flying and traveling during the winter is a very good way to get sick. Staying close to home and avoiding the exposure is a much better idea, especially if we are older. Unfortunately watching the news and anything related to the Orange Traitor also can make us feel sick.

Equal Justice does not exist in this country.

This is a common mistake. I don't think the blogger was intentionally embellishing. Frankly, sexual abuse is bad enough in addition to his other misdeeds, crimes and reprehensible behavior. No gentleman would defend the crook, traitor and sexual predator. We all heard his vile words on that Access Hollywood tape. Plus cheating on three wives. He is degenerate, orange slob.

Thanks, Brian. No need to embellish. He sexually penetrated her with fingers, not his genitals. The NYTimes goes on to say:

“The finding that Ms. Carroll failed to prove that she was ‘raped’ within the meaning of the New York Penal Law does not mean that she failed to prove that Mr. Trump ‘raped’ her as many people commonly understand the word ‘rape,’ ” Kaplan wrote.
He added: “Indeed, as the evidence at trial recounted below makes clear, the jury found that Mr. Trump in fact did exactly that.”

I am happy for Trump to run TV ads saying “I only stuck my fingers in her, gosh, no big deal, why the fuss? Just my fingers, I’m Donald Trump and I approved this ad.”

By claiming the many cases against Trump are being "embellished," people like Brian1 give themselves a lame excuse to vote for him. All empires eventually wind up on the trash heap of history; ours just didn't last as long as most.
