Easy Sunday. Stay alive.

We can stay on top of our booster shots.

From the abstract:

Political affiliation has emerged as a potential risk factor for COVID-19. . . . The excess death rate gap between Republicans and Democrats widened from 1.6 pp (22% of the Democrat excess death rate) to 10.4 pp (153% of the Democrat excess death rate). The gap in excess death rates between Republicans and Democrats is concentrated in counties with low vaccination rates and only materializes after vaccines became widely available.

There was a huge opportunity for Trump and the GOP. They could have touted the fast-tracked vaccines as a triumph of American can-do entrepreneurial science combined with common-sense government de-regulation. It could have been the Trump Vaccine, Trump's proudest achievement. It would bring back memories of families lined up to get the polio vaccine, America great again. It would have positioned American vaccine science versus inferior Chinese science.

Leftist anti-vaccination, all-natural-home-remedy enclaves could have been the hotspots of excess deaths, populated by refuse-niks, who would rather die than trust the Trump vaccine.

The GOP went the other way. It was a missed opportunity.

Are not the republicans the stupid party? Their reality is whatever they are told to believe, not what is actually the truth. The republicans are proud of being stupid and would rather die than acknowledge the truth. Oh well.
Better make this be an anonymous comment as it’s rather catty on my part, but it’s true isn’t it?

This comes as no surprise. There are people who delight in spreading outrageous lies to see how many people will swallow their nonsense. When the COVID-19 vaccines became available, there was a deluge of disinformation: The government is using them to implant microchips, they make you magnetic, they alter your DNA, etc. Naturally, the people most prone to believing such stupid lies were those who believed Trump’s.

Even now, with the pandemic finally receding, Gov. DeSantis has joined the quacks and charlatans that undermine public health, promising to launch a criminal investigation into the life-saving vaccines. The clueless may have been dying off in greater numbers, but they remain the GOP base and Republican politicians still pander to them regardless of consequences.

Stayin’ Alive 2022
with apologies to the BeeGees

Well, I can tell by the way you won’t take vax
You’re the kind of guy who don’t do facts
MAGA loud and Fauci low
It’s hard to know which way to go

And now it's all right, that's okay
And you may look the other way
Certainty can’t be achieved
The New York Times can’t be believed

Whether you're a taxer or an anti-vaxxer
You're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Feel the zetgeist breakin' and everybody shakin'
And we're stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive, stayin' alive
Ah, ha, ha, ha, stayin' alive

Who cares. Better for you isn't it?

We live and die by the choices we make
...as long as we maintain the Freedom to choose for ourselves.

And of course, the NBER proclaiming to be "non partisan is as ridiculous as the article is unbiased.

Although I am not anti-vax, I am not vaccinated because of my particular situation.

In addition to avoiding people in general and thoroughly washing my hands, I Double-Mask when I need to go to the store. I use the regular general purpose disposable masks.

Double-masking gives extra protection and it doesn't seems any worse to me than wearing only one.

Avoid, mask and wash.

Getting enough Vitamin C and D, etc., also are important.

Governor DeSantis is NOT antiVAX. He is askng for an investigation into the misinformation that was promoted by the government. See my previous comments about how DeSantis made sure the vaccine was widely available to those who wanted it in Florida. Cant say the same for Oregon. He is against the mandates.

Evidently there are those on the left who forgot the campaign of 2020 where the candidates poo-pooed the vaccine during the campaign for President.

Thanks to President Trump for fast-tracking the vaccine development despite that pushback.

The critics show their ignorance.
