Easy Sunday: body language

Who needs words?

An ongoing theme of this blog is that most political communication is non-verbal.  Posture and tone is more salient than the words themselves in communicating intention.

People can negotiate a conspiracy with a wordless glance.

The real experiment would be to give the candy to just one of them to reveal the future Republican.

While individual law enforcers can and should be viewed with skepticism, the fundamental concept of following orders and the rule of law are apparently learned, or not. Also, obedience is connected to consequences and at this age that's not on the agenda quite yet. How a parent navigates this is crucial to future behaviors and attitudes.

"Don't touch" applies to many things.

My reaction is the parents are doing a poor job of parenting. Controlling the environment is the way to manage the kids. Seems to me the parents taught the kids to not listen to them. Maybe off base, but don’t like the parental modeling here.

"More salient" to effective communication than the words themselves? I could see "also salient", or at the very most "just as salient".

Otherwise we have the scary prospect of climate change, inflation and Middle East policy best communicated by these toddlers, Buster Keaton, Joe Biden without his teleprompter, or Joe Biden with his teleprompter.

Kind of mean thing to do to little babes. My dog does better, but she’s had lots of experience. These kids have no idea why they have to wait.

Was there something that we missed in yesterday's discussion about JFK? Are we still so blissed out by the flowery rhetoric that even today we dismiss the personal depravities of those which we admire from a clear distance? Is it truly a partisan issue? Are we so deceived by thinking that the side that we are on is so pure and so good and can do no wrong, and the other is so insufferably bad and can do no good?
Before We complain of the Splinter in "the other's" eye, remove the plank from your own.

This video is very humorous thank you for posting it Peter, it made me laugh hysterically. It is of course an experiment that is repeated throughout every generation and the very first time it was ever conducted was a long long time ago in a garden called Eden.
The Creator of all and everything that is and is beyond our understanding sent two Children frolicking in the garden, and said you are free to roam and play and rest to your hearts content, but you may not eat of the fruit of this tree if you do you will die. Just this one rule, this one thing which is forbidden. I do this because I love you and I don't want you to die. Now I have some planets I'm working on over in the neighboring galaxies I'll be back in a few days...
