News Flash: Kasich gear goes on sale

Kasich Gear is going on sale--15% off.

You don't need to wait for some official announcement from the campaign to see what is just around the corner.   The campaign is dumping inventory.

Everything Marco Rubio said on the stage in Hialeah, a city and neighborhood next to Miami, was that he was in this for the long haul.  I am not leaving the arena until every single state has had a chance to vote, he told the crowd in English and Spanish.

But a table next to the stage had Tee shirts 50% off.

If a person missed the fact that the crowd was small and missed the fact that Rubio went home to loyal and loving neighborhood to greet old friends rather than to seek new ones, the 50% off table made the endgame clear.  I bought one figuring I might use it for some purpose in this blog, as illustration for a campaign's end, and here it is.

The Kasich hats and tee shirts express the slogan "Kasich for Us", but there aren't enough Republican looking for his brand of policy and problem solving.  The voters are looking for angry and the Kasich tone is earnest, not angry.  Kasich gave them a sensible-experienced-credentialled candidate, the kind of candidate many people think they want, but the voters have looked things over and have chosen Trump or Cruz.

His presentation in Medford at my old high school was a pretty clear indication that Kasich  was hoping that somehow Trump and Cruz would destroy the other simultaneously leaving him the sole survivor, the only guy talking policy in a calm voice.    Or he was running for Vice President while saying he was doing no such thing.   Calm, rational, experienced Kasich--from Ohio--gives Trump a little of the gravitas some think he needs.  Plus Ohio maybe.

The Trump avalanche is building, Indiana exit polls are telling the story, delegates are throwing in the towel, the Republican establishment is coming to terms with the reality that the voters want Trump so the Stop Trump movement has quieted down.   Trump is winning the nomination, having done it gradually and then suddenly.

Trump needs a VP with some credentials and Kasich has credentials if not votes.

Kasich never quite burned his VP bridges, complaining only about Trump's manner (which Trump himself says he intends to change) rather than about Trump's policy or character or mental health.   But the end is near and it is time to give loyal Kasich supporters a chance to buy some bargains before the expiration date.   Shop now.   Hurry.

Meanwhile, as of 7:00 p.m. Pacific Time there are souvenirs available now: Cruz Fiorina gear, and at this very moment still full price.

He has dropped out and these may become collectors items.
